Ùr Napja - Corpus Christi

Most vasárnap, Úr napján, megtartjuk a hagyományos körmenetet amely 10:15-kor kezdõdik. Mint elözõ években, most is lesz magyar oltár. Megkérjük a magyar hiveket a következo 3 dologra:
Aki teheti, az legyen magyar népviseleti ruhában
Mindenki hozzon rózsaszirmokat (rose petals) amelyeket a körmenet alatt kiszórunk.
Mindenki jöjjön el korábban, 10:15-re.

Most vasárnap, Úr napja (Corpus Christi) alkalmából, viszont lesz meleg ebéd amelyet a németek készítenek. Az ebéd alatt a német zenekar játszik. Utána pedig a Szent István Egyesület tart egy rövid gyulést a plébánián amelyre mindenkit szeretettel várnak.

The German group will prepare luncheon this Sunday. During lunch the German orchestra will play.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The Corpus Christi Celebration dates bak to the XI Century as a response to the heresy of Berengarius of Tours who denied the presence of Christ in the consecrated bread and wine. The Belgian Blessed Juliana of Mount Cormillon began to promote a festivity that eventually became extensive throughout all the Church.

Even though in the beginning some objected that the Day of Corpus seemed repetitive of Holy Thursday, the hymns and texts composed by St. Thomas Aquinas for the liturgy raised up the most beautiful Eucharistic Theology.

The Faithful brought their jubilant faith for the Eucharist to the streets, preparing altars and organizing processions filled with beauty and solemnity to give honor to the Holy Sacrament. After Vatican II, Pope Paul VI called it the DAY OF BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST.
